Douglas' Maple, Mountain Maple · Acer glabrum
Description: A small maple much like Vine Maple (Acer circinatum) in size and habit, though it is hardier than its western lowland relative. Douglas' Maple is native to the mountains east of the Cascades all the way to the Rocky Mountains, but it can be found growing on the western slopes of the Cascades, sometimes alongside vine maple. Beautiful fall color ranging from orange and red to yellow. Sun, part sun, shade, regular water.
